If you plan to use the pool every week, you have to check out the chemicals every week The pH should be between 7.4 and 7.6. If it is below this level, you can use soda ash product to bring it up. If it is above this level, you can use muriatic acid to lower it. You should also keep an eye on the chlorine levels. If it is lower than 1 part per million, you need to shock the water to get it back where it should be.

Change the Filter

The pool filter plays a big role in the overall pool function. You should routinely check the sand filter to make sure it is functioning the way it should. On top of checking the filter, you should clean the cartridges out of the filter.
